Our topic for this term is ‘Florence Nightingale' and we will learn about who she was and when she lived. We will consider similarities and differences between medical care now and in Victorian times and how Florence Nightingale improved conditions in Scutarian hospitals. We will think about what Florence Nightingale achieved in her life and why she is remembered today.
Key Stage 2
Year 3 and 4
Our topic for the Spring Term is 'The Victorians' and we will learn how the Victorians lit the way for us today. We will find out about the Industrial Revolution and consider famous inventions during this time. We will think about what it was like to live in the Victorian era and learn about how Lord Shaftsbury changed the lives of Victorian children.
Year 5 and 6
Our topic for the Spring Term is 'The Ancient Greeks' and we will learn who they were and the connection between Athens and democracy. We will consider why Greek writing is still relevant today and why we call a 26.2 mile race a marathon. We will also think about the modern-day Olympics and the ancient Greeks and what legacy they left behind.
