Key Stage 1

Our topic for this term is Explorers and we will be designing and making a space buggy using a variety of resources. We will also evaluate our product.

 

Year 3/4

Our topic for the first half of the term is Structures- constructing a castle. We will be recognising castles are made of multiple 3D shapes, designing a castle with key features, cutting along the lines of nets of 2D shapes, assembling geometric shapes and evaluating our work.

For the second half of the term our topic is Eating seasonally and we will be identifying where foods grow and in which season, recognising the equipment used to prepare food, describing the taste of various fruits and vegetables and designing and evaluating a seasonal dish.

 

Year 5/6

Our topic for this term is Structures- bridges. We will be identifying stronger and weaker supporting shapes, recognising beam, arch and truss bridges, using triangles to create simple truss bridges, cutting beams to the correct size, smooth rough edges, completing a bridge and identifying areas for improvement.
