Our topic for this term is: Drawing, exploring tone, texture and proportion.
Children will:
- draw using tone to create a 3D effect;
- explore how combining lines and mark making can show texture and tone in drawings;
- understand proportion by observing how it is used in artwork;
- understand what is an effective composition in art;
- apply an understanding of texture, tone and proportion in a drawing;
- create a collaborative piece of art inspired by an artist.
Year 5 and 6
Our topic for this term is: Drawing, expressing ideas.
Children will:
- explore how street artists use art to convey messages and provoke thought;
- understand and apply one point perspective in a drawing inspired by street art;
- understand and use scale and proportion effectively in drawings;
- design a street art-inspired piece using a brief;
- create a street art-inspired piece that conveys a message using perspective, scale and proportion;
- evaluate creative work by exploring meaning and message.
