Key Stage 1

Our topic for this term is ‘At the farm' and we will be learning what impact farms have on our lives, how the seasons affect life on a farm and identifying different types of farms. We will also think about the differences between life on a farm and life in a town. We will visit a local farm and learn about the link between animals and plants and the food on our plate. 

Key Stage 2

Year 3 and 4

Our topic for this term is London and we will be going on a residential visit there. We will learn about famous buildings and why people are attracted to living in the city. We will learn about how London has changed with reference to human features and compare it to our local town, Aspatria. We will also locate other major cities in the UK.  

Year 5 and 6

We will further our previous studies on London and consider how the River Thames developed London as a trade route. We will learn about the Thames flood barrier and how it was built to protect London from flooding. We will also consider London as a capital city and further our knowledge of the UK by locating other cities, counties, mountains, rivers and the seas surrounding it.
