Welcome to Plumbland CE School

I am very proud to be the headteacher of Plumbland CE School where we have an amazing team of dedicated caring staff, fabulous pupils and a community who have a strong desire to support our school.

We believe everyone should have the opportunity to flourish and grow. Our small size means we know every child individually and we encourage them to try everything to feel safe and have a go at new opportunities. Our curriculum is designed to ensure children have rich and memorable learning experiences through our learning environment, educational visits, forest school experience and specialist teaching within Sports, Music and Computing. At the same time we rigorously teach the skills our children need within Reading, Writing, Maths and Science, whilst encouraging our children to be creative, curious, investigative and delight in the awe and wonder of the world. Details of our curriculum can be found under the subject headings, as well as each curriculum policy. If you require further information please contact the school office.

Our school is at the heart of the community with strong links to St Cuthbert’s Church, Plumbland. We also work very closely with our partner schools ensuring our children are able to meet up with and share experiences with the children they will later meet at secondary school. Our committed Governing body plays an active role in the school’s ongoing development and our parent fundraising group (FOPs) have raised significant funds through a wide range of events to provide valuable support.

We hope our website gives you an understanding of our school. Our ‘News’ section details events and activities which have taken place. If you have any queries or would like to visit us please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kindest regards,

Mrs Claire McKie

Headteacher
