Reception children will be building on their knowledge of the number system and carrying out activities on Shape, Measures and Time. They will also be using the outdoors to carry out activities practically.

Key Stage 1 and 2

You can see our weekly Maths themes in the grids above. We regularly use mental maths activities to help develop our quick thinking skills and we talk through solving calculations. Children in Year 6 have the opportunity to run stalls at Fund raising events to enable them to develop their money handling enterprise skills. All classes have a ‘Maths area’ which means we can access Maths activities independently. We all enjoy ‘problem solving’ and by focusing on problem solving activities, this helps develop our reasoning and calculation skills.
