Spring Term 2020

Year 5 and 6 children all completed their ‘playtime leader’ training and organised sports activities to lead. Congratulations to our netball team as our school won the netball competition we hosted for the schools within our cluster. Our infant children enjoyed their kinder cricket sessions led by Chris Hodgson and our Juniors learnt lots from their tennis tuition led by Rob Jefferson.

Year 5 and 6 had their forest school sessions where they cooked popcorn, lit fires, baked bananas, made bird feeders and created snow drop poems. Other outings included the Year 6 visit to Allonby School for the ‘Pakistan experience’, The Year 5 ‘Technology Day’ at Beacon Hill School, The Year 4 ‘Alien Invasion’ day at Beacon Hill School and the Junior trip to St Bees School for a Science workshop.

We raised £68 for Maryport Lifeboat on our ‘Go Orange’ day. The Arts team from Tullie House visited us for a workshop on ‘Chinese New Year’. Our Year 5 and 6 children completed their guitar tuition and Year 3 and 4 have begun their ukulele tuition.

Our Mothering Friday service went ahead but we sent this as a recording to our families as visitors weren’t allowed into school because of restrictions linked to the corona virus.
